The guest list shows what happened to each invitation under the guest's phone number. Hover or tap the status for the full story. Most waits clear on their own.
Step by step
- Scheduled · 8:00 AM: it is night where the guest is. Invitations and reminders due between 9 PM and 8 AM in the guest's local time wait until 8 AM. Automatic RSVP reminders go between 10 AM and 7 PM guest time.
- Scheduled, with "Today's texting limit was reached": your plan's daily cap is used up, and the text goes out on its own later. The caps are an abuse guard: 75 texts a day on Free, 500 credits a day on Essentials, 1,000 on Destination, 2,000 on Grand and Planner, 5,000 on Studio.
- Carrier limit · sending soon: the carrier paused our texts for a while. It goes out automatically at the time shown; there is nothing to do.
- Not invited · replied STOP: the guest opted out. Nothing is texted to them until they reply START.
- Not delivered: the carrier could not deliver it. Common causes are a landline or other number that can't take texts, a number that is not valid, a phone that is off for days, or a carrier's spam filter. Check the number with the guest, fix it on their row, and use Resend invitation.
- Nothing sent and a message about credits: your plan's message credits are used up. Email keeps working; add a credit pack ($10 for 250) or upgrade the event to keep texting.
- Nothing sent and a prompt to Verify mobile number: texts go out only after you verify your own mobile under Profile. The guest is added and the text waits.
Good to know
- A number the carrier refuses for good (a landline, an invalid number, or one that opted out with the carrier) is not tried again on the next send.
- Your own verification number must be a mobile line. VoIP and landline numbers can't be verified.
- Guests abroad on a paid plan with WhatsApp on can get their texts on WhatsApp instead, with SMS as the fallback.
- Resend to undelivered in the Message menu retries everyone whose invitation did not arrive, once an hour per guest.
