Destination weddings mean guests in several countries. Addressed prices every message in credits by where it goes, and shows the total before a bulk send.
Step by step
- Texts reach US and Canadian numbers. Text messaging to the countries where our seven guest languages are spoken is being added.
- On a paid plan, turn on WhatsApp for the event. A guest with a number outside the US and Canada is then tried on WhatsApp first and gets SMS if WhatsApp can't deliver. US and Canadian guests keep getting texts unless they chose WhatsApp.
- Credits per message: a text to the US or Canada is 1. A text to the UK or Ireland is 3, to Western Europe (France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Germany, the Netherlands, Greece) 4, to Mexico 6, to the Caribbean 7, and to any other country 5.
- A WhatsApp message is 1 credit. The hotel room-block reminder is the exception: WhatsApp classes it as marketing, so it is 2 credits, and it goes only to guests outside the US and Canada.
- Before any bulk send, the preview lists the lines (US & Canada by text, Mexico by text, WhatsApp, and so on), the total and your balance after.
- If WhatsApp is off but your plan includes it, the preview tells you what the guests abroad would cost on WhatsApp against SMS.
- Email is free everywhere.
Good to know
- Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and Guam are +1 US numbers and count as 1 credit.
- A WhatsApp message that falls back to SMS is charged the difference between the two.
- Store guests' numbers with the country code (+44, +351, +52). It decides how the message reaches them and when their daytime is.
- Texts and pages are in the guest's language: English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, German or Greek.
