Import guests from CSV, Excel or Google Sheets

Most guest lists start in a spreadsheet. The importer reads it, shows you exactly what it will do, and texts nobody unless you tick the box.

Step by step

  1. Open Guests and choose Import. Pick where the list comes from: Zola, Joy and The Knot have their own export steps, and More sites lists Paperless Post, RSVPify, Luma, Eventbrite, Posh, Partiful and Minted. For anything else, choose Another spreadsheet.
  2. Put one person per row with a header row on top: name, email, phone, address, household. Column names don't have to match ours.
  3. From Google Sheets, use File → Download → Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) or Comma-separated values (.csv), then upload that file. Numbers works the same way with Export.
  4. Drop the file in. CSV, Excel (.xlsx) and OpenDocument (.ods) are read, up to 1.9 MB and 5,000 rows.
  5. Review your spreadsheet: the preview counts guests to add, guests already on your list and skipped rows. Needs a look lists rows to check, and any column we couldn't place can be matched to the right field or dropped.
  6. Invite the new guests who haven't RSVP'd yet is off by default. Leave it off to import quietly and send later; turn it on to text them as part of the import.
  7. Confirm. The guests land on your list with their households, tags and any RSVPs your old site recorded.
